LAKE STEVENS, Wash. (AP) - A 17-year-old Lake Stevens boy has died after he was struck by a car while crossing Highway 9.

Lake Stevens Police Chief Dan Lorentzen says the crash happened just after 6 a.m. He says several witnesses reported seeing the boy crossing from the west side of the highway. He was struck by a car heading north.

The Daily Herald reports (https://is.gd/i5dRvv ) that the driver stopped and cooperated with police. The chief says police don’t suspect impairment but are investigating.
