SALEM, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire motorcyclist has crashed into a pickup truck at an intersection and has been seriously injured.

Police say the crash happened Monday night in Salem. They say Atkinson resident Donald Wormald was suffering from a serious leg injury when they got there and has been taken to a hospital.

The Salem Police Department’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team says a preliminary investigation shows the pickup truck was in a turning lane and was preparing to stop for a red light. It says the motorcycle took a wide turn, entered the pickup truck’s lane and crashed into it.

The motorcycle operator was thrown from the motorcycle.

A road was closed to traffic in the area for several hours but has reopened. The accident is under investigation.
