CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Jefferson County Homeland Security and Emergency Management’s has invited the National Weather Service to teach a storm spotter class that focuses on flooding.

The class will occur on Wednesday night at the Independent Fire Company.

The class is free and open to the public. The class is designed to educate the public on weather threats in the area, as well as strengthen the ties between the National Weather Service and those who live in the community.

The flood class includes going over the roles of spotters, what to report and different types of flooding.
