LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Fresh off his fifth trade trip to China, Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder is leaving on a similar mission to Japan and Germany.

Snyder is scheduled to leave Wednesday afternoon on the investment and trade mission. He heads first to Japan where he is scheduled to speak on Monday at the 2015 Japan-Midwest U.S. Association Conference in Tokyo.

He then goes to Germany where he will go to Frankfurt for its 66th annual auto show.

The governor returns to Michigan on Sept. 17.
