WARREN, Mich. (AP) - Jill Biden received a warm reception at Michigan’s Macomb Community College, but the community college professor and wife of Vice President Joe Biden also received some friendly instruction from the audience.

Jill Biden was traveling Wednesday with President Barack Obama to press their case for free community college when she mispronounced Macomb - and put the emphasis on the first syllable. After the crowd at the Warren school helped her a couple times, she said it right - and added good-naturedly, “you’re correcting the teacher.”

Biden introduced Obama and announced an independent College Promise Advisory Board that she will help lead.

He pronounced Macomb correctly when he took the podium - and added “Go Monarchs!”

Both Biden and Obama praised the school for its “innovative” programs and partnerships with businesses.
