AMES, Iowa (AP) - Authorities are investigating after 18 cars were vandalized in a three-block radius in the city of Ames.

According to KCCI-TV (https://bit.ly/1EL9A1t ), the Ames Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle fire around 2:50 a.m. Monday. While responding to that fire, police noticed two other cars on fire. All three fires were extinguished and no injuries were reported.

Authorities said that in addition to the three fires, 15 cars were found broken into.

Ames Police Cmdr. Jason Tuttle said the department is asking for the public’s help in finding out who is responsible.
