ALBANY, Ore. (AP) - Authorities in Linn County are investigating a death after a man called 911 to say he killed someone.

Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley said in a news release that deputies were called to a residence near Albany, about 25 miles south of Salem, at around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

During the first of two related 911 calls, dispatchers only heard yelling in the background before the line was disconnected. A second call came from a male who told dispatchers he had killed someone.

Deputies found a female dead in the residence. A male who was also at the residence was detained.
