TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson officials are grappling with a bus strike that has lasted more than a month.

The Arizona Daily Star reports (https://bit.ly/1NhVwh6) council members are getting an update Wednesday afternoon on the strike as well as Sun Tran’s management and operations.

Councilwoman Regina Romero said in a newsletter Tuesday that Sun Tran operator Professional Transit Management has failed to keep Sun Tran running, and has got to go.

Councilman Richard Fimbres has said finding a new contractor would further delay a resolution.

Service has been extremely limited since workers started their strike on Aug. 6. The union representing 530 drivers, mechanics and other workers says Sun Tran has failed to address safety issues.

Mediation continued Tuesday between Professional Transit Management and the union, Teamsters Local 104.
