JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A 23-year-old woman has been arrested for felony abuse of a vulnerable person.

Attorney General Jim Hood, in a news release Wednesday, said Jasmine McInnis, of Collins, was booked into the Jones County Adult Detention Center and is awaiting her initial court appearance. It was unknown if she has an attorney who could comment on the case.

McInnis is accused of physically abusing a patient while employed as a direct care worker within a facility that provides care to the mentally challenged in Jones County.

If convicted as charged, she faces up to 20 years in prison.
