GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say that a man who was killed in a crash in Greene County this week was reportedly assaulting the driver of the SUV before it ran off the road and overturned.

The Greeneville Sun is reporting (https://bit.ly/1Tm0xt6 ) that investigators with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department are still trying to determine what caused the deadly confrontation inside the vehicle.

Authorities say that 37-year-old William E. Foster, of Johnson City, died at the scene of Wednesday’s crash. The driver of the SUV was identified as 28-year-old John Thomas Bishop. Bishop was airlifted to Johnson City Medical Center, but his condition is not available.

A report says the driver lost control of the vehicle, and the SUV overturned before slamming into an embankment and going airborne.
