BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - A judge has upheld the murder charges against two people accused in the fatal shooting of a man at a north Boulder trailer park.

The Daily Camera reports (https://bit.ly/1MY00H7 ) that Cody Nelson is charged with first-degree murder and Miriam Nayeh is charged with being an accessory to murder in connection with the Feb. 5 shooting of Andrew Duncan. Boulder District Judge Maria Berkenkotter upheld the charges Wednesday.

Attorneys for the defense say Nelson shot 31-year-old Duncan as an act of self-defense after he beat and dragged Nayeh outside his trailer. Nayeh, who is several months pregnant, has told police Duncan is abusive toward her and the father of her child.

Both Nelson and Nayeh are set to be arraigned May 25.
