BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after a man reported that three of his donkeys had been shot near Miles City.

The Billings Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1RB90E1 ) that the Custer County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that the man said the shooting may have happened on March 24 near Moon Creek.

One donkey was shot three times and another was shot in the neck and the owner had to put it down. The owner says the third donkey looked like it had been pulled into the brush by an all-terrain vehicle.
