ELIM, Alaska (AP) - A western Alaska man has died in a snowmobile crash.

Alaska State Troopers say a snowmobile driven by 63-year-old Daniel Amarok of Golovin on Sunday left a trail outside Elim and struck a tree.

Amarok died in the crash.

Inclement weather prevented troopers from immediately responding to the death.

They plan to travel to Elim when weather permits.

Elim is a village of 340 on the northwest shore of Norton Sound.
