INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Kent State point guard Kellon Thomas will return to his hometown next season and finish his college career at IUPUI.

Last season, the 5-foot-11 Thomas led Kent State with 81 assists and 31.5 minutes per game while finishing second in scoring at 12.3 points. In 2014-15, Thomas appeared in eight games before an injury forced him to miss the rest of the season and redshirt.

Thomas played high school basketball at Southport, on Indianapolis’ south side.

Coach Jason Gardner announced the move Wednesday.
