BARRON, Wis. (AP) - Authorities say a man suspected of boating while drunk on a western Wisconsin lake resisted arrest, leaving four officers hurt over the weekend.

Wardens from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources asked the Barron County Sheriff’s Department for help with a possible intoxicated boater on Upper Turtle Lake late Saturday night.

Deputies and wardens went to a cabin on the lake and found the boater, 33-year-old Jeremy Freund of Wonder Lake, Illinois. Authorities say Freund resisted arrest, prompting one of the wardens to use a stun gun.

Two DNR wardens and two sheriff’s deputies were injured during the arrest. They were seen at hospitals and released.

Freund was charged Monday with resisting an officer and disorderly conduct. He was released from jail and is due back in court May 17.
