SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Officials say they have recovered the body of a Utah man who fell overboard while boating in Lake Powell.

The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/23GuoCJ ) that 26-year-old Tim Ritarita’s body was pulled from the Kane County side of the lake Sunday. A Wasatch County search and rescue team had used a sonar system to detect the man’s body at a depth of 143 feet.

Officials say Ritarita had been boating with a friend Thursday when he fell into the water near Wahweap Marina. The friend had searched the area and threw flotation devices into the water, but turned up no sign of Ritarita.

The National Park Service, the Utah Highway Patrol and the U.S. Coast were among several agencies that participated in the four-day search.

The incident remains under investigation.
