CHULA VISTA, Calif. (AP) - A nonprofit organization is providing portable showers for homeless people in the Chula Vista area of San Diego County.
The Think Dignity organization says the idea was inspired by a similar program in San Francisco.
Executive director Anne Rios tells the Union-Tribune (https://bit.ly/1NiIxPd ) the showers restore a sense of dignity to individuals and have a health benefit in providing better hygiene.
The mobile showers are located at another Chula Vista nonprofit but Rios hopes to expand the program countywide.
