BUTLER, N.J. (AP) - Investigators say a 23-year-old man pointed a loaded shotgun at an officer before he was shot and wounded by police in northern New Jersey last month.

The Daily Record reported (https://dailyre.co/1VzHUDs) Monday that Dylan Howard was transferred from a hospital to the Morris County jail on Friday and is charged with aggravated assault by pointing a loaded firearm at police.

Court records show officers responded to Howard’s grandparents’ home in Butler for a report of a suspicious person. Documents indicate that Howard, who also goes by Dylan Hannah, was ordered to turn around and pointed a shotgun at Officer Jorge Reyes, who shot him.

Howard is being held on $185,000 bail.

It’s unclear if he has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
