TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey driver has been charged in a crash that that killed a crossing guard.

Duane Bennett, of Upper Freehold, faces three to five years in prison after he was charged with causing a death while driving with a suspended license.

Police say he struck 56-year-old Antonio Wiley on state Route 129 in Trenton Monday afternoon. Wiley died at the scene.

Records show the 42-year-old Bennett has been released from custody. Prosecutors say they don’t know if he yet has an attorney and a phone number couldn’t be located.

Police say the cause of the crash is under investigation. Bennett could face more charges.
