SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - A former bookkeeper at Woodlawn Leadership Academy in Shreveport has been arrested.

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator, in a news release, said 52-year-old Bridget Lee, of Shreveport, faces charges of felony theft and unauthorized use of a moveable. She surrendered to authorities Tuesday and was transported to the Caddo Correctional Center. It was unknown if she has an attorney who could comment on the case.

Detective Yomeka Evans began investigating in March after authorities were notified of possible irregularities following a school audit. A more detailed audit uncovered a loss of $11,446 from various school spirit accounts from August 2015 to February.

Lee is accused of taking cash from students and spirit sponsors but never depositing the money into the designated account.
