ST. LOUIS (AP) - Retiring St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay has renamed his campaign committee to focus on an unspecified statewide office.

The four-term mayor told The Associated Press Tuesday that he’s “keeping options open” but that he has “no specific plans at this point” after his surprise announcement earlier this month to not seek re-election in the city.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the 61-year-old Slay on Monday changed the name of his campaign committee from “Slay for Mayor” to “The Slay Committee.”

The electoral filing did not indicate which statewide office he might seek. His committee reported having nearly $1 million available in the first quarter of 2016.

Slay has led St. Louis since 2001. He’s the longest-serving mayor in the city’s history.
