ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A 19-year-old man suspected of a robbery in which shots were fired by a bystander has been charged with two felonies.

Miguel Gil is charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon and assault.

Alaska State Troopers just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday responded to a robbery of the Holiday gas station at Mile 49 Parks Highway.

A clerk said a man wearing a gas mask brandished a gun, demanded money and fled.

A bystander who witnessed the robbery fired several shots from a handgun.

Neither the suspect nor the bystander with the gun was at the station when troopers arrived.

Gil was arrested Monday at his home in Peters Creek. He was jailed in Palmer.
