SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) - A sports utility vehicle hit a woman who was pushing her grandson in a stroller across a street in Sarasota.

Sarasota police spokeswoman Genevieve Judge said in a news release that the 1-year-old boy was flown to a St. Petersburg hospital where he was listed in stable condition. The 42-year-old grandmother was also taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.

Judge says the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No charges were expected for the driver, but Judge said charges against the grandmother are possible. No further details were immediately available.
