MERIDEN, Conn. (AP) - Police are investigating an early morning drive-by shooting in Meriden that landed two men in the hospital.

Police say the victims, ages 23 and 27, were sitting in a parked car just before 1 a.m. Wednesday when another vehicle pulled alongside them, and someone in that vehicle fired several shots.

Both victims were struck several times.

Officers responding to the scene found the victims in a nearby home.

One victim was treated at a hospital and released, while the other remained hospitalized as of 8 a.m.

No names were released.

There was no information from police about the vehicle from which the shots were fired and no word on arrests.
