THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) - Poland striker Arek Milik scored both goals as Ajax beat Heerenveen 2-0 on Wednesday to return to the top of the Eredivisie on goal difference with two matches to go.

Milik’s brace lifted his season’s total to 21. He scored a 57th-minute penalty and doubled the lead seven minutes later, turning in a cross by Mitchell Dijks.

PSV Eindhoven had been top for a day by beating Vitesse Arnhem 2-0 on Tuesday. Midfielder Davy Proepper struck early to settle PSV’s nerves in the tense title race and captain Luuk de Jong made sure of the three points when he converted a penalty in the 72nd minute.
