TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he went to Indianapolis to introduce Republican presidential front runner Donald Trump to Gov. Mike Pence.

Christie said Wednesday on his regular radio call-in show he was invited because Trump and the Republican governor hadn’t met. He declined to discuss details of the meeting.

Christie says he turned down additional campaign trips to return to New Jersey to do the radio program.

Christie last appeared with Trump on the campaign trail in March, missing the funeral of a New Jersey state trooper and drawing criticism. Christie responded saying it was expected and he had planned to attend a groundbreaking elsewhere in New Jersey even if he were home.

Christie says if Trump asks for his help again and he’s able to go, he will.
