METAIRIE, La. (AP) - The Jefferson Parish coroner’s office has identified the man whose body was found floating in the middle of a Metairie drainage canal.

Coroner’s office Director of Operations Anthony Buras identified the victim Tuesday as 43-year-old Sylvester Lemon, of Metairie. Buras told NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune forensic pathologists have not yet determined Lemon’s cause of death.

He says officials are still awaiting the results of toxicology and skin tests.

Lemon’s body removed in the canal on Friday.
