GERING, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has canceled a Gering workshop that would have trained people to be youth fishing instructors.

Commission spokesman Jerry Kane said Wednesday that Sunday’s event has been canceled because not enough people had signed up.

Such workshops are conducted yearly across the state. The volunteers who complete the courses have access to the commission’s loaner fishing equipment and educational materials to help conduct their own classes.
