BALTIMORE (AP) - A judge has sentenced a man shot by Baltimore police officers to five years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Keith Davis was sentenced Wednesday. Five years was the mandatory minimum term the judge could hand down. Prosecutors had asked for 15.

Davis was shot in the face by officers inside a garage last June. Prosecutors say Davis robbed a hack driver with a gun, then ran into the garage, where he brandished the gun at the police officers who chased him there. A jury cleared Davis of all other charges, including assault and robbery in February.

Last month, Davis was charged with murder in the shooting death of Kevin Jones hours before the encounter with police. He is awaiting trial.
