GOSHEN, N.Y. (AP) - A 20-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to charges he tried to kill an acquaintance by stabbing him with a pocket knife during a fight on a Hudson Valley street.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports (https://bit.ly/1TiuXdS ) Jonathan Rizzo entered the plea during his arraignment in Orange County Court on Tuesday. The Cornwall man has been indicted on charges of attempted murder, assault and other offenses.

Investigators say Rizzo got into a fight with an acquaintance in the early morning hours of April 6 in Cornwall-on-Hudson. Authorities say the attack left the 21-year-old victim with multiple stab wounds, a fractured skull and a broken hand.

Rizzo remains in Orange County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. He’s due back in court on May 6.
