CLAYMONT, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a man has been charged with breaking into a Claymont hotel and stealing more than $1,000 worth of food from a freezer.

The News Journal of Wilmington reports (https://delonline.us/1NAQVEq) Master Cpl. Jeffrey R. Hale says 43-year-old Christopher Toth is charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief in connection with the March 23 incident at the Crowne Pointe Plaza Hotel.

Hale says Toth was named as the suspect based on tips received by people who identified him based on surveillance videos released by detectives.

Police say Toth was seen in the videos entering the hotel and taking food from the kitchen’s freezer before fleeing. Police say the suspect stole $1,250 worth of perishable food.

He was released on bail. It’s unclear whether Toth has an attorney.
