PARIS (AP) - Crisis-ridden Marseille will get the chance to salvage its season against bitter rival Paris Saint-Germain in the French Cup final after beating Sochaux 1-0 on Wednesday.

Winless in 10 league matches, Marseille’s victory over the second division club came a day after firing Spanish coach Michel.

Florient Thauvin scored the winner in the 49th minute with a low shot from Steven Fletcher’s assist, sending his club through to the final on May 21.

With four rounds of league matches remaining, Marseille sits in 15th place and has yet to secure its spot in the topflight next season.

Aiming to replicate last season’s domestic treble, already-crowned champion PSG beat Lorient 1-0 on Tuesday.
