JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi will not add domestic violence as a reason for divorce.

A final version of a bill that would have allowed divorces for that reason passed the House on Wednesday, but died in the Senate a short time later.

It was Senate Bill 2418 (https://bit.ly/26fNoH4 ).

The state will retain 12 grounds for divorce, including impotency, adultery, habitual drunkenness and incurable mental illness.
