VENTURA, Iowa (AP) - A woman has been accused of stealing from a breast cancer charity group in northern Iowa.

Fifty-one-year-old Leanne Hicks is charged with theft and ongoing criminal conduct. Authorities say she stole nearly $3,500 from Buddies for Boobies during the 19 months she served as the nonprofit group’s president. She lives in Ventura.

On Tuesday Hicks told the Mason City Globe Gazette that she didn’t take the money.

Her next court appearance is set for April 29 in Mason City.
