SOUTH LONDONDERRY, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police say a brush fire that burned 14 acres in South Londonderry was accidental.

The fire chief says the fire was accidentally started by ashes from a woodstove that had been placed outside.

Firefighters battled the fire that extended up Glebe Mountain Tuesday night with help from a helicopter.

After about three and half hours, the fire was contained.

Firefighters returned to the scene Wednesday to extinguish hot spots in the forest.
