SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Sen. Bernie Sanders returned to his home state of Vermont just before polls closed in New York’s presidential primary election.

Sanders’ campaign charter landed at Burlington International Airport in South Burlington just before 10 p.m. Tuesday. He was in the air when media outlets began calling New York’s Democratic primary for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Sanders congratulated Clinton on the win, but said he is concerned about “voting irregularities” and issues with voter registration in New York. He went on to tell reporters camped out at the airport that he has no plans to change his campaign strategy.

Sanders says he’s missed Vermont after being away for several weeks. He has no scheduled public events for Wednesday and will travel to Scranton and Reading, Pennsylvania on Thursday.
