RIDGELAND, S.C. (AP) - Jasper County Sheriff Gregory Jenkins says a domestic dispute apparently led to a deadly shooting in Ridgeland.

The sheriff tells local media outlets that deputies were called to a residence Monday night and found 22-year-old in Savon Quincy Scales of Beaufort dead in the front yard. He had been shot several times.

The sheriff said that Anthony Barry Bolden Jr. of Ridgeland turned himself in Monday night and has been charged with murder. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.

Investigators say Bolden and Scale’s girlfriend are related and the two apparently got into an argument. The sheriff says that Scales was shot when he tried to intervene in the dispute.
