SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Police in Syracuse have identified a man who was fatally shot on a city street earlier this week.

Authorities say officers responded late Monday night to reports of shots being fired on Ash Street. When officers arrived, they found a man in his 20s suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers began to administer first aid, but the man was later pronounced dead when paramedics arrived on the scene.

Police on Tuesday identified the victim as 26-year-old Martell Derby of Syracuse.

Officials say they have no suspects at this time.
