NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The western half of Louisiana is under a flash flood watch until Thursday afternoon.

The National Weather Service says showers and a few heavy thunderstorms will move over the state producing locally heavy rainfall.

The weather service says with the ground is already saturated, any additional rainfall could result in localized flash flooding.

Forecasters expect another 1 to 3 inches with isolated higher amounts through Thursday afternoon.
