RAMONA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a small plane has crashed at a San Diego County airport but the pilot escaped with minor injuries.

The Sheriff’s Department says the two-seat plane went down around 10 a.m. Saturday near a state fire helicopter pad at Ramona Airport.

The 56-year-old pilot walked away from the crash with only minor cuts and firefighters treated him at the scene.

Nobody else was on the plane and no one on the ground was hurt.

There’s no word on what caused the crash.
