PENNSAUKEN, N.J. (AP) - Officials are investigating after human remains were uncovered in a New Jersey river.

Camden County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Kevin Callahan said Sunday the remains were discovered Saturday afternoon about 12:20 p.m. in the Cooper River in Pennsauken.

Callahan says no further details, including who discovered the remains and how they ended up in the river, were available.

Pennsauken Township is just north of Camden and across the Delaware River from Philadelphia.
