PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police have identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash that injured his 4-year-old son.

Police spokesman Jonathan Howard says 30-year-old Vincent Reid died at the scene of the collision Saturday morning near 42nd Place and Baseline Road.

According to investigators, Reid was weaving his motorcycle through traffic when he approached a dump truck that was slowing down to turn right.

Reid lost control of the motorcycle while trying to slow down.

The motorcycle fell over and slid into the back of the truck.

Howard says the impact threw both Reid and his son off the motorcycle.

The boy suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Police say Reid wasn’t wearing a helmet but his son was.
