STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. (AP) - Police say a 16-year-old girl was shot during a block party near an apartment in suburban Atlanta.

Henry County police tell local news outlets that the teenage girl survived surgery and currently in critical condition Sunday after being shot in the back. The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday at party in which more than 200 teenagers attended.

Police say the girl was shot after an argument or fight broke out during the party.

Police say three people were arrested, but not in direct connection with the shooting of the girl. Two people were apprehended for allegedly firing shots in the air.

The name of the girl has not been released.

Investigators received a description of the vehicle seen leaving the scene that spotted later and pull over.

Two men inside were detained.
