OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) - An Auburn man has been charged with two counts of reckless murder after two people died following a crash in Opelika.

Media outlets report that 33-year-old Antonio Reese was arrested after he caused a fatal crash Friday evening while attempting to flee an officer.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says in a release that the crash resulted in the deaths of 58-year-old Dennis Finley and 51-year-old Rhonda Finley.

An Opelika police officer had been attempting to conduct a traffic stop on Reese when he fled in his Chevrolet Malibu. Soon after, Reese collided with a Toyota Camry that was occupied by four people, including Dennis and Rhonda Finley.

Reese has been charged with two counts of reckless murder, felony attempting to elude and assault in the first degree. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
