PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A man has been charged with murder and related offenses in the shooting death of a man who was earlier the alleged victim in an assault case against two police officers.

Police said 23-year-old Khalil Henderon was arrested Friday in the Dec. 5 homicide of 23-year-old Najee Rivera in a street fight in the Kensington neighborhood.

Prosecutors earlier accused two police officers of beating Rivera without provocation during a May 2013 traffic stop and then prosecuting him to try to cover up their actions.

Officers Sean McKnight and Kevin Robinson were acquitted earlier this month. Their attorneys said they used only the force needed to subdue Rivera.

Court documents don’t list an attorney who could respond to the charges and a listed number for Henderson couldn’t be found Monday.
