COOS BAY, Ore. (AP) - An attorney running in District 15’s Circuit Court judge race is applying for reinstatement to the Oregon State Bar after he was suspended for failing to respond to an investigation into his alleged misconduct.

The World reports ( ) that Attorney Rick Inokuchi, who was suspended April 18, responded to the bar’s disciplinary counsel’s office in a letter issued last week.

Assistant Disciplinary Counsel Nik T. Chourey’s had attempted to reach Inokuchi in December and January regarding information about a complaint filed by his former client. Randy Joe Cummings alleged in his October complaint that Inokuchi failed to properly represent him and didn’t respond to his requests for information and updates on his case.

In his response to Chourey, Inokuchi defends his conduct and says he kept Cummings up to date with his case.
