FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A 5-year-old boy who had been reported missing from a Fort Worth home was found by police officers in a swimming pool at the residence and was later pronounced dead.

Fort Worth police spokeswoman Tamara Pena tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram (https://bit.ly/1qpNwU0 ) that police were called to the home late Saturday morning.

Officers found the boy in the backyard pool and jumped in to get him.

A Tarrant County medical examiner’s report shows that the boy, Joshua Garcia, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His cause of death is pending.
