CHARLES CITY, Iowa (AP) - A northern Iowa man accused of breaking the bones of an infant has pleaded not guilty.

Floyd County court records say 21-year-old William Khuns entered written pleas Friday to two counts of child endangerment resulting in serious injury.

Prosecutors say Khuns squeezed the infant in August until the baby’s ribs broke and twisted one of the baby’s arms behind its back in September until he heard a pop. Police say the baby suffered nine broken bones.

The court records don’t show that a trial starting date has been set.
