MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Police have arrested a Morgantown man after a shooting that left one man dead and another man wounded.

Morgantown Police Chief Ed Preston says in a news release that 32-year-old Jeremiah Martin was arrested Saturday following a traffic stop in Fairmont. Martin was charged with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Preston says the investigation is continuing.

Preston says 36-year-old Jesse James Loya of Morgantown was pronounced dead at the scene of Thursday’s shooting. Another man was taken to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to a hand.

Martin is being held in the North Central Regional Jail on $75,000 bond. Jail records didn’t indicate whether Martin has an attorney to comment on the charges.
