MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (AP) - A central Ohio man has pleaded guilty to fatally shooting his mother and girlfriend while high on a synthetic drug and was sentenced to prison.

Travis Bonham entered the pleas in Knox County on Monday to charges including aggravated murder and weapons-related counts as part of a plea agreement.

A judge sentenced the Mount Vernon man to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 42 years.

Investigators say the 31-year-old Bonham admitted that he shot his mother, 50-year-old Sandra Selk, and his girlfriend, 23-year-old Jaime Linn Barber, on Sept. 29 while he was high on the synthetic drug known as bath salts.

He previously pleaded not guilty to charges.

A message seeking comment on the plea deal was left for Bonham’s attorney.
